GAA:110 - Intro to Game Art & Animation
Project 1 - Primitive Modeling

Summary -
The goal of this assignment is to create a 3D robot model utilizing primitive stacking techniques that introduce standard primitives, extended primitives and dynamic objects. The purpose of this assignment is to adapt to Maya and 3Ds Max interface and transformation tools. The image above is what I was able to create with the basic shapes offered in Blender.
Project 2 - Complex Modeling
Summary -
Now this one of the first models, I create that started as a rectangle and turned into an object. The idea of this assignment is to model the a hammer and model an additional tool or gun. Demonstrate modeling complexity using selection tools in Editable Poly Mode. Experiment with vertices, edges, borders, and polygons to represent the tool or weapon as accurately as possible. I was able to create this asset shown above in Blender.
Project 3 - Character Box Model

Summary -
This assignment, focused on creating a character model. The image above is my first ever character model, I have created. When creating this character, we have a side profile and a front profile, of a model on a plane, and starting to create the overall design of the character.
Project 4 - Modular walls

Summary -
This next assignment, had a focused on modularity where, I just need to create an enclosed room by creating 3 modular walls, and 1 wall transition segment. I also had to create 3 different floor designs as well. Now when I was creating these models, I wanted to take a sci-fi approach with a twist of some early European walls designs.
Project 5 - Texturing

Summary -
Now this assignment, started to have me understand, how to UV unwrap and being able to add textures to the models that I create. The assignment stated that we needed to a barrel, and one more object so I decided to do a chest. This assignment, was fun but it did have some difficulty as this was one of the first time, I started to understand, how textures works.
Project 6 - 3D Character Rig

Summary -
Now this assignment, is to use the pervious 3D character model, that I created and rigged it up with bones so I can move the parts of the body. This assignment, was interesting as I learned a lot about about how important geometry is when rigging a model and making smooth movements with arms and legs is a lot of work. There is a Youtube Video, that has me explain more of my process with setting up the bones, and what I learned from this experience.
Project 7 - Intro to Animation
Summary -
This is my first animation I made for this class and first animation using Blender as well. Now this assignment, really had us have a ball bouncing a couple of times from a height. With that being said, I learned a lot about the 12 principles of animation, with using some of those principles in my ball bounce animation. The video above is a small video demonstrating the animation I made, with a little commentary.
Project 8 - 3D character animation
Summary -
Now I with the experience I created with the ball animation, I was tasked in this assignment to create a simple walking animation. This assignment, really helped me understand how difficult animated movements were and it was a great learning experience. The Youtube video above shows off the animation I created, with a little commentary by me.
Project 9 - Cameras, lighting, and rendering

1 - Extreme Close-Up

2 - Close-Up

3 - Medium Close-Up

4 - Medium Shot

5 - Wide/Long Shot
6 - Extreme Wide/Long Shot

7 - Establishing Shot
8 - Over the Shoulder

9 - 2 shot
10 - Low Angle

11 - High Angle
12 - Dutch Angle

Summary -
This assignment, is learning about camera angles along with, lighting, and rendering images. We are to take 12 different shots over a model of you choice and an environment of your choice. I found these models, along with the environment, in the Blender store and wanted to use them for this assignment. The images above is a collage of me performing the different angles using what I have available.
Project 10 - complex weapon model

Summary -
This was the last assignment, in the class, where we went back to the complex model but this time we are to create a weapon. I decided to create a version of the MP7 with two different attachments for the weapon. This class was a valuable experience as I got a huge understanding of the game art field and how assets are created within this industry.
